Our story is one of passion, perseverance, and the belief that coffee is more than just a drink—it's a conversation. I'm Kareem, and my journey with Regent X began in the summer of 2023 when I was navigating uncertainty, applying to biotech jobs and even dreaming of starting my own neuro-tech lion's mane supplements business. Born in Glendale, with a physics degree from Cal State Northridge and a PhD in Systems, Synthetic, and Physical Biology from Rice University in Houston, my passion for science, nature, and cooking naturally evolved into a love for specialty coffee.

While searching for specialty coffee spots in Glendale that roasts its own beans, I discovered Leon and Regent. I instantly became a fan—especially of their Kyoto cold brew—and found solace and inspiration in the vibrant community they had cultivated. After completing my PhD and spending a year as a post-doctoral researcher, I faced the challenges of job interviews where my unique skills didn’t quite fit the mold. Returning to my favorite coffee shop, I began to dream about working behind the bar, crafting excellent cups of coffee, and sharing genuine hospitality with every guest.

That dream soon sparked a partnership with Leon, and together, we launched the Regent X project—an endeavor born from shared passion, community support, and the desire to redefine the specialty coffee experience. Our venture is not just a business; it's a celebration of our loyal guests, the inspiration of Cafe X, and the vibrant spirit of Glendale. Every cup is crafted mindfully with care and roasted right here on Brand Blvd, reflecting our commitment to quality, innovation, and community.
